Hi

After a power failer, I am able to turn on my computer and windows XP window
seems to be loading up, but then I see a black screen with a white cusor.

I have tried to rebooted it and then press F8-I have tried to boot from the
last know config and safe mode, but nothing.

Any sugestions?

You will have to try to determine the extent of the damage. Did you lose the
hard drive? Can you Repair it?
Boot to the XP setup CD, or any other way possible for your system to start
the Recovery Console.
From the prompt:
CHKDSK /R

Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console:

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply. I bought my computer from a friend and
unfortunately he did not supply me with a XP setup CD.

What can I do do?

Claudio

Hi Mark,

I am downloading the Zip file from my labtop and then I will burn the file
onto a cd.
Should I then insert the CD into my desktop and run the CD?

Hi Mark,

I have tried to boot up my computer as normal and after the XP windows, the
computer goes into sleep mode.

Any suggestions?
