Anyone have any luck finding a 3D driver for on board Intel 915GM/GMS/910GML

Or any other suggestions?

Gerry

To the best of my knowledge the lowest end intel video card that supports
Aero is the 950. If you have a desktop then you can upgrade to a dedicated
solution; if you have a laptop...Throw it off a bridge and replace it with a
new one? I wish I could be of more help.

Ben

That was one of the most sought after drivers among the TechBeta
participants over the last year and a half. Intel apparently does not
intend to write the drivers.

I think there is actually a hardware limitation on this card. I believe it
needs to support pixel shader 2.0 in order to run AERO glass.

Aero will only support mid to upper level video cards. Your Intel video is
a low end video solution and will not support aero.

Time to upgrade

Honu.

I don't know what you mean by a "Low end card" the card is certainly
powerfull enough the problem is that it is an older card and does not have
DX9 and possibly other support functions required by MS for Vista.

DX9 and Pixel Shader 2.0 must be supported in hardware. Software support is
insufficient.

I thought that is what I said the card does not provide Vista required
functions even though it has the GPU power required . However, since MC
only communicates with the card drivers and not to the card itself MC does
not know where the DX9 support is provided from. ATI for example provided
the DX9 support for its 91xx and 92xx cards it its XP Catalyst drivers and
MC never knew the difference.

yup, right, my mistake.

so in my dell inspiron 640m which i bought recently, i see Mobile Intel(R)
945GM/GU Express chipset family.

I have pentium dual core with 2gb ram. Do you think it will work well with
AERO and glass? It got windows vista home basic OEM so never got chance to
use AERO with it.

Aero does not run on Vista Home Basic, only on Home Premium or Ultimate.
And it runs easily with 1GB and 1 Core.

yes i know. what i needed to understand is, with Mobile Intel(R)
945GM/GU Express chipset family, intel core due and 2gb ram, will i be able
to run AERO if i install windows vista home premium?

I don't know about the Mobile version but I have absolutely no problem
running Aero with the standard MOBO 945 chipset with the Max memory
allocation set to 128MB,1 GB of main memory and a Intel HT CPU.
Hopefully someone who has your exact chipset will respond, if not. start a
new thread with the chipset added to the subject line which should help
finding a user with the same chipset to respond.
