Gday, I have clean instaled Vista Home Premium on my laptop, all components
are okay to run Vista.
However I have tried to setup Aero and have followed the steps in the help
pages but I dont even have the choice to select Aeo in the apperance tab, its
not there.
When I instaled vista I didnt have video drivers (due to format of pc) but
downloaded the drivers for vista after instal and that is workin fine.

Any help in finding Aero would be great.
Cheers

Try updating your score in Control Panel\System and Maintenance\Performance
Information and Tools.

I have this problem too (aero not in appearance list) and I did update my
score and it still isn't showing. Any other suggestions for me?

Hi Grinner,

What's the make and model of your graphics card?

You may not have the option to enable transparent glass effects in Windows Vista:

Having what same problem?
You haven't provided your system specs so we don't even know if your system
supports Aero. Vista will not tell you to upgrade your RAM with 2GB
installed. How about starting from the beginning, list your specs and your
problems.

All, I have 2gb ram and running a Nvidia GeForce Go6200, when I did the
pre-install compatability test all was said to be okay, now I have this
problem???

Cheers

this is redicolous.

i am running an AMD 64 3000+ sitting at 1.81ghz, rated by vista as 3.8
i have 1022MB of ram, with a heat sync, so it runs well rated at 4.4
an ATI X800 256MB GT rated as 5.9 for aero, and 4.9 for gaming.
and my hard drive is rated at 5.2

i did what the thread started did, where i format into vista home premium,
went, installed my respective drivers, and no aero glass. i dont even have
the option when i go to the appeirance settings. some help on this would
really be appreciated.

Richard,
All the problems with the X800 seem to be narrowing down to AMD CPU's and
Nvidia chipsets, Nforce 3 and 4. What is your CPU and what chipset do you
have? As I have stated in other threads, on my machine I have not been able
to run aero since RC1. I am presently using RC1 drivers, ver 8.29 with no
problems. Loaded ATI 7.2 drivers and all windows games crash - besides having
no aero or option to enable it.
Thanks.
