My session windows do not appear with transparent borders, just within the
last week my laptop crashed and I had to carry out a DSK-CHK, the Windows
Aero classic display option is now missing from the color scheme list after
re-booting.
My laptop was bought pre-loaded with Vista Home Premium so I don't want to
fork out just to get the driver, how did this happen and can I download the
missing portion of software to repair what's missing, can anyone help!

yours sincerely, John, Northolt, West London, UK

You should try to have the system check itself, and let it try to do a
replacement of a system file.

And since you have an OEM version of the O/S pre-installed, the very
first thing, and I mean the very first thing you should be doing or
should have done is make that O/S Recovery DVD, because if you loose the
O/S for some reason, you can install the O/S again. Without that
Recovery DVD, you are burnt toast and will be in real trouble.

You should be able to contact the computer manufacturer's tech support
to help you make that Recovery DVD, if you don't have it.

I don't know. You might be able to get the file from the hidden Recovery
area on the HD that contains the O/S components.
