Aero, Dreamscene, and UAC questions

I have a couple of questions that have been bugging me...
Does aero and dreamscene continue to use resources once a full screen
game such as Doom3 is launched?
Is there a way to leave UAC on and be able to save a game while
playing? Currently, while playing Doom 3 and having UAC turned on, I
am unable to save any settings or my progress in the game. I have
tried running it in WINXP compatibility mode and running it as
administrator but neither worked. Am I missing something or is this
the way UAC is supposed to perform? Kind of hard to sell this as the
new Gamers OS if this is the case.

Shouldn't have anything to do with UAC. All UAC does is ask you if you want
to grant the program admistrative privileges if the programs asks for it.
Otherwise, the program is run as a standard user.

As for DWM (Desktop Window Manager), Aero, Dreamscene... they are disabled
when your program goes into full screen mode and restarted when you exit the
program. Dreamscene even disables on a laptop on battery to preserve battery
power.

DreamScene pauses, transparency in Aero turns off.

Doom 3 might need to be run with administrative rights in order for it to
write its saves out as they're being saved on a non-user location.
