Tammy,

Glad to hear that you've removed most of your scumware.

said.

Do you still have eghtmldialer.dll?? Can it be deleted??

Tammy,

Also, when you think everything is gone, run all the antispyware programs
again to see if Instant Access Dialer is still being detected. Or anything
else is being detected that you should get rid of.

WES,

i tried to unregister the file eghtmldialer.dll but its still giving me the same msg : loadlibrary ("eghtmldialer.dll") failed. the specified module could not be found.

whilst going through the 2 sites u sent me i found DIALER but its in c/prgram files/windows nt. i tried to delete it but it keeps popping up.

i also tried the steps mentioned in these sites : http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/library/instantaccessdialer/index.phtml

Tammy,

NO don't reinstall!!!

Forget scanning with norton antivirus, it is not the tool for this job.

Hi Tammy,

From Spybot-S&D HELP:

[[Why does Spybot-S&D not detect and remove the Alexa key for the What's
related function of IE like other anti spyware utilities? FAQ #008
This key is often simply called Alexa, but that is wrong for two reasons:
1. simply calling it Alexa would mix it up with the Alexa Toolbar, and
2. it is not a key created by Alexa. It is a Microsoft Internet Explorer key
that points to a Microsoft DLL and a local Microsoft HTML file. The latter
redirects to an online MS page, and only that page redirects to the Alexa

A. You might want to remove the Microsoft JVM, which Microsoft no
longer supports, in favor of the more recent Sun Microsystems JVM. To
remove the Microsoft JVM, perform the following steps:

From the Start menu, select Run.
Enter the command
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall
to start the uninstall process
Click Yes to the confirmation, then select Reboot.
After the machine restarts, delete the following items:
the \%systemroot%\java folder
java.pnf from the \%systemroot%\inf folder
jview.exe and wjview.exe from the \%systemroot%\system32 folder
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM registry subkey
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_VM registry subkey (to remove the
Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) options)

Microsoft Java is now removed. You can download Sun's newer JVM for
Windows at http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html.

Hi Tammy,

ia.dll may be running or in use. You cannot delete anything
that is running or in use.

Try this.
Boot up your PC in SAFE mode.
Open Task Manager | Ctrl + Shift + Esc |
Applications tab | Look to see if Inastant Access is running |
If it is | End Task button | Processes tab | Look to see if any
of the following are running:

EGDHTML_1023.dll
EGDial.dll
ia.dll
mseggrpid.dll

If any are | End Process button | Answer YES |

Now try to delete ia.dll.

A. You might want to remove the Microsoft JVM, which Microsoft no
longer supports, in favor of the more recent Sun Microsystems JVM.
To remove the Microsoft JVM, perform the following steps:

From the Start menu, select Run.
Enter the command
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall
to start the uninstall process
Click Yes to the confirmation, then select Reboot.
After the machine restarts, delete the following items:
the \%systemroot%\java folder
java.pnf from the \%systemroot%\inf folder
jview.exe and wjview.exe from the \%systemroot%\system32 folder
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM registry subkey
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_VM registry subkey (to remove the
Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) options)

Microsoft Java is now removed. You can download Sun's newer JVM
for Windows at http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html.

Tammy,

Your Caps Lock key looks to be stuck.

I do not really know.

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
Scroll down and look for Java settings.

Hi Tammy,

ia.dll may be running or in use.

Now try to delete ia.dll.

thanks Wes, i did download Ad-aware from Lavasoft and i also have
SYBOT, CWShredder, Bazooka, and HIJACK this installed on my pc.

One other thing , please, when you gave me a site to remove
instantaccess from my pc
(http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.instantaccess.html) one
of the steps was to unregister the .dll files, but when i'm
followwing these steps (regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\ia.dll)
and pressing ok it says Access is denied. I also tried to delete
the file from Windows explorer, c/windows/system32/ia.dll but
still it says access denied. Is there another way to delete this
file ?? Thnks alot for your help

Hi Tammy,

From Spybot-S&D HELP:

[[Why does Spyd-bot-S&D not detect and remove the Alexa key for
the What's related function of IE like other anti spyware
utilities? FAQ #008
This key is often simply called Alexa, but that is wrong for two
reasons:
1. simply calling it Alexa would mix it up with the Alexa
Toolbar, and
2. it is not a key created by Alexa. It is a Microsoft Internet
Explorer key that points to a Microsoft DLL and a local Microsoft
HTML file. The latter redirects to an online MS page, and only
that page redirects to the Alexa search engine.

In my opinion a better way than to delete the key would be to
make another or even multiple search engines available.]]

You might want to download AdAware, run, update and run again to
see what it finds Alexa related.

A lot of people have uninstalled Microsoft's Microsoft Java
Virtual Machine (JVM) and installed Sun's Java. I did back
before I reformatted my hard drive. I personaly didn't like
Sun's Java so I didn't reinstall it after refomatting. I'd say
go ahead and do it. Entirely up to you.

Looks like this link is the same as you have. Here it is anyway.
How can I uninstall the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) from
Windows XP?

HI, WEs

thanks i did download all 4 and scanned as well with all of
them. but spybot S & D says i have 1 entry of ALEXA RELATED and
even after i say delete, it says it deletes it but after a
while after i scan again with spybot s& d it says the same 1
entry ALexa related.

senondly in CWShredder it says as a prevention to uninstall JAVA
and install a new program, copy of which is below shall i do it
?? if yes where shall i find those folders what steps have i got
to follow ?

thanks once more
tammy

A. You might want to remove the Microsoft JVM, which Microsoft
no longer supports, in favor of the more recent Sun
Microsystems JVM. To remove the Microsoft JVM, perform the
following steps:

From the Start menu, select Run.
Enter the command
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall
to start the uninstall process
Click Yes to the confirmation, then select Reboot.
After the machine restarts, delete the following items:
the \%systemroot%\java folder
java.pnf from the \%systemroot%\inf folder
jview.exe and wjview.exe from the \%systemroot%\system32 folder
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM registry
subkey The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_VM registry subkey (to remove the
Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) options)

Microsoft Java is now removed. You can download Sun's newer JVM
for Windows at http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html.

Tammy,

NO don't reinstall!!!

Forget scanning with norton antivirus, it is not the tool for
this job. Scumware are not virii, so norton won't help.

Visit these sites. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are really good. Download,
install, run, update and run again; one or all. They are all
good, FREE utilities.

Run CWShredder first!!! <<<<<<<<<<<<

1) CWShredder direct download:
http://216.180.233.163/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

2) SpywareBlaster
[[SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it
prevents it from ever being installed.
The most important step you can take is to secure your system.
And SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program
available.]]

3) Spybot S & D

4) HijackThis (some other stuff that may be of interest also)

:

Tammy,

Glad to hear that you've removed most of your scumware.

You really should've replied to your original thread. If you
need to
more
help, please reply to *this* thread. It makes it easier to
find. That said.

eghtmldialer.dll is the dll file that would need to be
unregistered. Do you still have eghtmldialer.dll?? Can it be
deleted??
http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.instantaccess.html

Also look a the instructions at this link.
http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/library/instantaccessdialer/index.phtml
Problems uninstalling? Here's some advice.
http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/uninstallproblems.phtml

If these keys do not exist, that's good.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
egdhtml.egdialhtml
egdhtml.egdialhtml.1
egdialobject.egdial
eghtmldialer.htmldialer
eghtmldialer.htmldialer.1
