I would have to imagine this isn't the last time that such a mistake will be
made classifying spyware, malware, adware, etc. I believe Weather Bug was
another that was in question. At least it was resolved peacefully!
 
Along these lines, Microsoft's KB article giving the grounds for listing a
product has evolved. If it's been awhile since you've looked at it, it is
worth looking again. I don't know whether the current rev will be final or
not--it is worth checking back on periodically:

They need to realize, this AntiSpyware, just like the CD Recording Wizard in
XP, needs to be there by default.
