I use reguraly them following programs:

ADWare Personal
SpyBot
SpySweeper
MS Anti Spyware
SpyWare Blaster

I use AVG for Anti Virus ans Sygate for a firewall.

There are other great utilities to use also, especially from
SYSInternals, HiJack This, Disk Investigator.

Those mentioned on Spyware Warrior are worth staying away from. Why
create your own headaches, there are enough of those on drive by
without self inducing them.

I run XP Pro with all the updates, still use IE6 and it does the job
along with Google toolbar.

I constantly clean my system with CCleaner and Window Washer from
Webroot and also use INdex.dat suite.
