Hi All

I need some advice on trying to putogether a network plan.

Scenerio

We have two different company in our building, for example Company A and B.
We have 1 router, 1 internet connection, 1 switch. What we want to achive is
that company A has a domain controller, active directory and so forth. So
everyone on company A will be authenticated from that domain controller.
Company B will only use the internet connection but not be a part of the
domain. They will be under a workgroup.

With the current situaion we have everybody in company B linked to the
switch. As a result when they click entire network they can see all the
computer from company A.

Requirement:

I wan to seperate this two companay as to network. I guess the way to do
this is making VLAN. Therefore, i need to make 2 subnet for the two company.
But I can't find any documentation on this.

We are using Juniper SSG 5 router/firewall and 48 port 3 com switch. If the
above idea is not ideal please let me know. If we need to use more than one
swith to achive the above requirement let me know.

I need someone to give me an idea on how to achive this and also
documentation if possible. This will be really appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi andrew,

I guess company B computers are connectted to a separate switch. If
so, you can connect the company b's SWITCH to the router and use
firewall to BLOCK ALL TRAFFICS EXECPT HTTP AND HTTPS ( port 8080 and
443 )pl check to be sure that these ports numbers are correct.

(1) Connect companyB's computers to a separate switch and put them on a
separate subnet.
(2) connect the switch to the router.
(3) Use router to block all TRAFFICS except http and https traffic.from
that subnet.
(4) but, make sure that they can connect to the internet server.

If the internet server is in the perimeter network , is makes it more
easier, connect the server to companyb's network.
more to come ,

Vlan simply solves the problem.
bye seun.
