Hi All,
I'm trying to open a database file created in Access 97 on
a Win95 platform, in Access 2000 on a Win XP platform.
Sometimes I get in easily when I enter my username and
password and other times I get an error along the lines of

"Windows has caused an error and will close.."

then it gives me the option to send a report to microsoft.
Has anyone ever experienced this and if so how was it
resolved?

Should i just convert the database or is the difference in
platform (95 vs XP) the problem? I really need to find a
solution as soon as possible and would appreciate any help
I can get. Thanks Alot.

I get this error alot on Win 2000/Access XP. Didn't seem
to happen in 2000 much.

If there is a good reason to keep it in 97, then do it.
If there are uses that still use 97, then you have to.
What you can do is split the data to a front-end and back-
end. Convert your front-end to 2000 and use that.

Thanks alot Chris. All my users currently use Access 2000,
hence the need for a solution. I'll try your suggestion
and hope it works.

Thanks again.
