Good Morning Folks

Please may I have the benefit of your knowledge ?

In Windows XP Pro,

a) What form do Video Codecs take ?
What file types, '.dll' etc ??

b) How are they installed so that programs like
Windows Media Player;
Windows Movie Maker
pick them up and use them ??

c) If they differ from the 'Old' .dll files used for
Windows 98, is there a Conversion Utility to
convert from Old-to-New format ??

Thank you in anticipation (I hope)

A '.ax' file seems to be the main file for most codecs.

An install program is usually provided.

I doubt it.

Thank you folks

As a result of links you gave, I found GSpot
That pointed me to the "Super Convertor"

Looks like my problems are resolved

Thank you
