Can anyone advise me for a friend who has Windows 98 and wants to uninstall
Norton V5. He wants to use AVG instead. The problem is that Norton does not
show up on the Add/Remove Progs utility. He also cannot find any uninstall
file in the Norton programme folders.
If this is the case, I've heard that you should never delete an actual
folder from C:/Program Files, particularly with Norton as it places files
all over a computer system.
Would you advise that he sticks with Norton or is there another way to
remove it from his system before installing AVG?
Many thanks, Chris

Thanks Ionizer but the link you have kindly provided will not load. I've now
tried it 4 times with a BB connection.

You're right, for some reason that link doesn't work. I just found my way
back to that page and I *did* copy the URL exactly right so I'm at a loss
to explain. That said, do a quick Google Search for this: Rnav2003.exe
That's the name of the NAV removal tool, and the first couple of search
results will lead you to it. Or use my search result:
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=Rnav2003.exe&meta= (Assuming
of course that link works!)

Many thanks.
My pal has installed the Norton Unisnstall prog and it worked a treat.
Very much appreciated.
