Can't really help you - I'd like to know also. Read the EULA and it
leaves you wide open for spy/ad ware. Too many hits on the phrase
"skype spyware" for comfort - although I wasn't able to find a
definitive spyware connection from reading some of the hits.
Skype is bundled with Kazaa and Kazaa is laden with spyware and adware
- that seems to be the only spyware link I could find.
I've used several voice over the internet programs and they do require
some fiddling like mailing your assigned ip address to the person you
wish to speak to, and enabling the software to make it past the
firewall.
Skype claims to make it around firewalls without operator intervention
and the IP address must be some sort of instant messaging type of
arrangements. The firewall tunneling would bother me . . .
I think the jury is out, and I should just wait.
