Good evening,
I was wondering if it would be ok to solder the two wires that come out of
the fan
onto the card directly to the power supply so that the fan does not pump
power
out of the AGP slot ?
My concern is that my mobo is an old one and I wonder if problems won't
arise
because of that.
Thanks for any recommandation

It's likely your GPU draws A LOT more current than the fan does. The fan
will only use about 1W of power, probably. The entire card probably uses
about 50W, probably. If you compare 1W of fan with the other ~49W, it's not
going to make much difference where that other 1W comes from. In other
words, it might be possible, but it probably won't make a difference.
Either the motherboard can handle that card or it can't. -Dave

Thanks for the replies.
Took good note of the 1W vs 50W.
I don't quite understand "shorting out" the card.
Some video cards fans like Thermaltake ones (Orange orb) come with the
possibilities of connecting them either to the card or the PS.
So I don't see how that can be a problem.
Maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks again
