Have built a few PC's over the last few years, in fact have never had a
purchased PC only home built, but as I have not been keeping up with the
latest trends not sure what to go for, in my next PC.

What I want is a good all round PC, with reasonably good graphics for
games, but not a pure games PC. I do play a few games, some of these now
needing G3 cards, but I also use it for the more mundane, if you like,
stuff as running Office applications.

With cards for just the graphics going from tens of pounds to hundreds
of pounds where should I start?

My budget is limited, but not totally decided yet so please try to
suggest parts and reasons for using these as opposed to others.

I like the AMD chips more than the others, hard drive I have, it is
slow, but in the e80 gig region, so I can save money here.

Its the motherboard, and processor, with video card that I need help in.
So many to choose form now just not sure what to go for.

Any help given will be most greatfull received, and if you require more
info on what I am to use this for, and so on please ask.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

I wouldn't spend a ton on a video card if you aren't a big gamer. I
bought one of the asusNvidia geforce 6200 pci-e cards for this
machine. I also installed an Epox EP-9NPA+ ULTRA
an AMD 64/3000 and a gig of kingston ram in two 512mb dimm's. I'm
happy so far. I'm not at all a gamer so a $60 video card made sense.
