Problem: I am unable to view any advertisements from any
internet web-sites. Also, the Yahoo Toolbar will not show
any of the misc icons. (An "X" appears for the icon) I
bleieve something has changed my settings (Widows XP) and
I do not know how to reverse this. Can anyone help me?
Thank You very kindly... Denny R, Upper Sandusky, OH

Maybe you have used some 3rd-party utility for ad-blocking, and that has
filled the "Hosts" file with dummy entries to prevent web browsers fetching
adverts. What 3rd-party firewalls, anti-virus, or anti-spyware utilities
have you ever used on this PC?

The Yahoo tool bar can block popups. I don't know if that can be turned
off.

IE6 SP2 by default blocks popups. That is easy to turn off. See the Tools
menu
