Hello

What are the advantages of Outlook over Outlook Express? I'm thinking of
converting. I need some advice from people who are familiar with the
features of Outlook, so this should be the right group.

Regards
Robert

Brief answer - Outlook has mail (both corporate and internet), contacts,
calendar, tasks, journal - OE has Internet mail and news and an address book
only.

For more info on Outlook, go to www.microsoft.com/outlook

Thanks for responding. Does Outlook have news? (I think so, not sure.)
What's the difference between contacts and address book? Why does Microsoft
have two programs in the first place? Seems it would be simpler just to
offer all the functions in one program.

Don't forget the best part of Outlook is the use of WORD
for editing email. This (to me) is one of the best
advantages since WORD will let you spell/grammer check on
the fly along with all the other powerful options it
offers as well.

Of course this assumes you have either WORD or Office
installed.

Thank you.

Robert,

Outlook has news only by virtue of outlook express. A command on the toolbar
of Outlook will access the news feature of OE if enabled. Contacts is a far
more comprehensive means of storing and accessing multiple details about a
particular person, business and the like. V-cards and such. There are also
various ways in which all of this information can be put to work to ones
benefit. Short version of this is that it is a complex address book if you
want it to be.

OE is an integrated part of IE whilst Outlook is available as a component of
OfficeXP. I think I've got that right.
