Advancing to next slide

OK--I've converted a dat file to mpeg, cut the 30 seconds I want to use from the video and put it into a PP slide. Everything runs fine, but I cannot get the next slide up on mouse click. The enter key works, but the mouse won't advance to the next slide. Also, even when the loop box is unchecked, the movie loops on each mouse click when running while in view show mode. This is from the "edit movie options" tool. If I play the movie in normal view, it doesn't loop on click--it pauses and then restarts with the same frame. I must be missing something pretty simple, but I just can't find it. Is there another option box someplace for movies in PP within the view show that is different from the one used in normal view? (I'm on XP, btw, if that matters). Do I need to save the presentation as a PP show (.pps) to see these effects?

To play your MPEG in PPT, you'll want to use animation settings.

When you first insert the MPEG, PPT will ask if you want to play the
movie automatically or when clicked. Go ahead and hit "when clicked."

After you do this, in the custom animation pane, you'll see that a
"trigger" effect has been added to your movie. If you hover your mouse
over it, you'll see it says "on click, pause." Basically what this does
is allow you to click the movie to start it initially, click again to
stop it, and click yet again to start the movie.

Try that, and if it doesn't work, holler back. (Oh, and be sure to test
the playing in Show view, not in Normal view.)
