There are two questions so when you answer each please put "A#." (the
question number goes in place of the "#").

Q1. How can I get a slide to automatically advanc itself with a sound
effect, but if I click, it will advance without a sound effect?

Q2. This question is related to Q1., but answer it separate please. How
can I get an animation to appear with a sound effect, but if I click, it will
appear without a sound effect?

Q3. How can I lock a slide so it won't change unless I click a hyperlink,
causing it to change?

Thanks

A1. This one is possible. Here's how you can do it:
The method uses invisible linking.
First, remove the advance automatically under slide transition.
Add a rectangle that covers the entire slide.
Double click on the rectangle, set fill color to 99%. Line color to no line.
Click Ok.
Right click on the invisible autoshape, select Action Settings.
Select Mouse Over tab, set it Hyperlink to the Next Slide.
Put a checkmark on Play Sound. Look for the sound effect. (Must be wav format)

To make the mouse over work,
Click Add Effect > Entrance > Appear.
Set the Start from "On Click" to "After Previous".
Double click on the added effect.
Select Timing tab, set delay to 0.1 seconds or a time of your preference.
Click Ok.

Now for advancing without sound effect, you can create an action button that
hyperlinks to the next slide on mouse click, or similarly, draw an invisible
rectangle which hyperlinks to the next slide on click (but without the sound
effect).

A2. Similar to Q1, but probably requires a different way of integrating it.
As far as I can see, you may need to have a duplicated slide, where one has
animation playing w/ sound effect, while the other doesn't.

A3. Sorry, I don't get what you mean. In Slide Show or Normal View? What do
you want to achieve here? Please explain further.
