IE windows host file tool neither blocks nor permanantly
remove undesired host files of the form www.xxx.com on my
version. The indicator states they are still active. Is
there a way I can access these files through the
administrative tools?
 
Can you give us one or two concrete examples of these entries?

If they are of the form:

127.0.0.1 www.xxx.com

you may want these entries left in place.
