"Advanced settings" radio button/checkbox labels

For some reason, in all option dialogs, radio button and checkbox options
have either "-ON" or "-OFF" appended to the label for each option. (Please
see the screenshot here -
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/vexred0/settings_on_off.gif.) This
value changes between "-ON" or "-OFF" when the setting is toggled. I'm
running an up-to-date version of Windows XP SP3 on both my desktop PC and my
laptop, and this only appears to be occurring on my laptop. Initially, I
thought this might be an accessibility feature that I had accidentally turned
on, but there doesn't seem to be a corresponding option in the accessibility
settings.

Has anyone come across this before and, if so, is there a way of disabling
it? It's not a major problem, just a little bit annoying! Thanks in advance
to anyone who is able to offer any suggestions!
