is it actually a problem ?

Hello,
have you seen a advantage to be a "advanced membership". I never (NEVER !!!)
see that the installation of a program was now from windows (even
symantec,quicktime,itunes).
Its laughable.
is it only a spy ?

Benoit,
I remember seeing your original post.

I don't want to be rude but you did ask why nobody answered your question.

I believe no one has answered your question because no one is sure they
understand it. The English you are using in your post is very unclear.

You should ask someone who knows English well to write out your question and
than post it again.

Respectfully,
?:-)

Hello Tim,

thanks for your response.
yes i'm french (Belgium)

i am advanced member and when WD see a problem i receive a page where WD
search information about the new program he intercept. And allways he found
nothing (even if the company is well-know symantec for norton). Is it normal ?
At the moment i see not a advantage to be a advanced member.

Is it a little more comprehensible ;-)

Benoit

Benoit,

Yes, it is a little more comprehensible.
Unfortunately, I do not think I can help you in this.

I think that what you are saying is that you think that as an Advanced
Member you would/could/should get more or extra information about a Program
that WD has found a problem with, especially if it is from a well know
product or company (for example "Norton Utilities" (product) or "Symantec"
(company).

I am not an "Advanced Member" and do not know if this is the case (if it is
true or not).
I am not sure how Advanced Membership works or what it does. I thought it
sent extra information to a group of people working on the product (WD) or
its "Definitions" (SpyNet or something similar). I don't know if "you" get
any "advantage" (special, or extra infomation from WD when it finds a
problem) from your membership.

Perhaps someone with an Advanced Membership could give some more information
on this ?

?:-)

Tim's description is basically correct. Specifically, enabling Advanced
SpyNet membership also toggles on the 'software that has not yet been
classified for risks' notification setting, which when combined allows your
response to unclassified software to be submitted automatically.

This can be considered your 'Vote' on the item and thus gives you added
power in these decisions. Without Advanced membership, even if you enable the
notifications, you will have no input since no response will be sent.

Thanks Bitman,

but i must be the only one advanced membership because WD found never a
advice or a classification for program even the more well-know.

Benoit

Nothing ever popped up asking you to Allow or Deny a program that was 'Not
Yet Classified'?

Though in the Software Explorer, items such as Unknown Startup Programs will
be listed as 'Not Yet Classified', this is diplayed at the bottom of the
change alert when first detected by Defender. One clue is that a 'SpyNet
Community Rating' progress bar will display and then switch to a result such
as 'Not available'. However, I don't think this system is fully functional at
this point, if at all, since many common things still have yet to be
classified.

The more well known something is, the less likely it won't be already
identified, though some other major antimalware are listed this way. I just
tested this by enabling the Spybot Search & Destroy SDHelper.dll, also known
as the Bad Download Blocker, which will trigger an alert.
