I have lost hours of update work. Maybe the question is
simple. "What should I watch out for when I'm cutting and
pasting across columns when the filters are on?"
I have roughly 1600 rows, with about 100 selections from a
student survey. The selections match up with what is
available on which periods, say periods 1 - 4. If we have
conflicts with a selection/period combination, I need to
cut and paste their selection from say Period 1 to Period
4.
With the filter on, I choose the conflicts, then cut and
copy to the other columns. This has caused radical
problems! Data moving, erasing, etc.
The questions are, first. What should I look out for when
I using filtering to make mass changes, specifically, if I
need to move data?
Next question. What happens when I have an advanced
filter result, then auto filter on top of that. If I make
changes, or cut and paste, what potential problems can
arise?
Thanks,
Robert
