Hi Group,
I had to run repair option on WinXP Pro, but it also took my Broadband
connection with it. When trying to create new connection all the options are
greyed out with the exception of permanent, always on option. The ethernet
card is a SMC1211TX 10/100 and works fine with Win98 as well as Unix Any ideas
would be appreciated,

Typically, if you do a reinstall of XP, you have to also reinstall SP1
update. I had a similar problem and that fixed it.

Thanks Bert, never realised that the repair option took the bloody lot sp1 my
network connection, system restore and God knows what else. Got SP1a now and
will give it a go,
