In our office we have just subscribe to a DSL connection
the dsl package is just a single computer connection with
a DHCP IP address dial-up PPPoE. The problem is when I
enable ICS in the host computer where the dsl connection
is, my client computers can browse websites but
oftentimes received a timed out error or page cannot be
displayed error. Some sites are available for browsing
and some are not. Why is this happening please give me
advice on what to do. I suppect that this is a hub
problem but Im not sure, am I right?

I would very much appreciate if you can give me some tips
on tweaking this XP problem. By the way I am using XP
Home in my host computer.

This is a common problem with shared DSL connections that use PPPoE.
Here are some possible fixes. Any one of them should solve the
problem:

1. Install Windows XP Service Pack 1 on the ICS host computer.

2. Find the right MTU setting on the client computers, as shown here:

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article04-107

and then make the setting manually on the client computers, or use
DrTCP to make it:

3. Download the free RASPPPoE program and install it on the host
computer. Use it instead of XP's PPPoE program. Details at these
sites:
