ADSL + Fax software combo

Hi Everyone,
I need some help regarding adsl modem and fax software, And which is the
best combo in installing
and recognising each other.
I,ve had nothing but grief so far with CAPI drivers
software not seeing the modem, I really would like the
software to recognise the hardware without downloading
this and that driver.
So could anyone please give me a good adsl+fax software combo.

What exactly is the use of this equipment, the intended
purpose?

Fax machines generally use analog modems, not ADSL modems.
Fax software also looks for analog modems. An ADSL modem
would typically only be used for internet based fax services
and in that case your software does not need to know
anything about the modem, only to connect over the internet
as any other application on your system would.
 
Thanks for the reply Kony, I later found that I would need an old PCI card
if I wanted to fax.
Now knowing that would it be possible to run the PCI
card along with the adsl on the same filter.

An ADSL modem does not have the capability of handling fax data and dialling
out, unless it is some type of specially designed modem.

You need a standard analog type modem with fax capability. A serial or USB
type will do the job. You can get a low cost fax modem that can go
internally in your computer. This would most likely be the simplest
solution.

If you are out of slots in the computer, you can get a USB fax modem. With
XP, this should be very easy to install and make work.
