First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Chris,

What exactly you're referring to AdServer? For pop-ups/spyware issue, read the security notes at:

It sounds like spyware.

Google for "Adaware" and "spybot search and destroy".
Should sort it.

Every thought of using a better browser? There are a lot
out there that are better than IE in alomst all respects.

Adserver is used by may sites. Download and open this hosts file to find
out.
I installed that HOSTS file and it's blocking sites correctly.
There is a utility on the site also if you want to toggle the file ON/OFF
for viewing some pictures which may hide some parasites.

The best way is to block the server from tracking you in the first place
Blocking Ads with a Hosts File and AdShield. Under the Security Tab download
the hosts.zip file.
