I'm trying to remember where I saw an article about some sort of "mirror
finish" photo paper that is made by, or is sold by, Adorama. But I can't
find anything about it on the Adorama site, and I can't find it in my
magazines lying around. Does anyone have a clue on this?

I don't know specifically about this paper. Many papers are rebranded
to store brands, but are usually made by larger companies. The one
mirror surface paper I know of (and I don't mean it has a metalic look,
but that the surface is very reflective/glossy) is one made by
Konica/Minolta and it is sold under several names.

I was told in the US that is may be sold by Office Depot as a high gloss
inkjet paper.

The Konica Inkjet Paper is a micropore design, and with dye inks on
Epson printers makes a very nice image. I believe it is called Konica
QP Photo Glossy. There is a heavier-weight version called Professional
Photo Glossy. It is sold under a number of other names.

I just looked at the url you suggested, and the paper is indeed silver
backed, like some of the Kodak color photo papers. The Konica paper I
wrote about is not the same. There was a point that Ilfochrome photo
paper used a polyester plastic backing that was whipped with air to give
it a almost pearlesence quality, and I really liked the results. I have
also seen Kodak's "metallic" papers and for some images the paper give
the image a very special quality.

Sounds like it could be interesting to experiment with.

Thanks for the info. I have just tried the Canon HG-101 High Gloss Film,
and it is really shit. Very thin, lousy surface, nothing at all like
Pictorico High Gloss White Film, which is really something. I was just
hoping there were more like it out there, but I haven't found one yet.

So, if you want glossy photo, you get Canon Photo Paper Pro or Epson
PGPP. If you want the plastic based photo film, you get Pictorico, and
that about sums it up, to this point in time.
