I am taking a class this summer and the instructor is
posting pdf files through a WebCT site at the
university. Everytime that I try to download a file,
adobe reader starts to open up, gives the initialization
messages, then I get a message in the screen that says
done, but I get no file.

I am running Windows ME and Adobe Reader 6.01. All of my
software is OEM and all updates have been loaded. I also
have a laptop running Windows XP and Adobe Reader 6.01.
It does the same thing.

Can anyone help Me?

Bruce

Adobe Acrobat Reader has been updated to 6.02. Get the patch from Adobe.
Don't know if that will help but it couldn't hurt.

I had a similar problem and discovered that my temp file had way too many
files in it and needed to be cleaned out. Apparently Adobe Reader tries to
review your temp file to look for pdf files, and if there are thousands and
thousands of files,it gets stuck.
