Adobe fonts don't show up in fontdialog

Does anyone have any exp with getting the adobe fonts to show up in the
fontdialog?

If I paste text from word into a .Net RTF I can retain the font in the RTF
(it looks correct on the scree and it prints correctly), but I can't show
the correct font in the font dialog.

What file format do adobe fonts have?

Only TrueType and OpenType fonts appear in the font selection combo, ie no
Courier, System, MS Sans Serif, Script etc or Postscript Type 1 fonts.
