You don't, unless you get it from the developers web site. And, seeing as
how it is free I don't understand why people insist on downloading it, and
similar files, from the logical web sites of the various developers.

Sorry. Should read:

If you follow the instructions on Adobe's site you won't have an issue.

And technically, what you are doing is illegal if you read Adobe's EULA.

IF Microfox did exactly what he said he did, then it is NOT illegal. It
might be against the EULA for Adobe software and therefore a contract
dispute, but not *illegal*. Geez!

In case you are running into the problem with an error in the installation
of adobe reader 8.0

Good old Acrobat Reader 5 works fine in Vista. No errors installing.

Mike

Some programs are installed via CD offline, so one then would need to
distribute it that way as well. Adobe has a distribution license that one
signs that allows one to do this. BTDT.

Its breaking the laws and rules set forth in the DCMA

Which rules in the DCMA specifically? I don't see what you are
referring to.

Yes, I'm like that. I want to download it from the developer's site [or at
least sites his site has links to for the download e.g. SmartFTP website
download page links direct to a Download.com page]. Why people want to get
these things from wryd, obscure and odd sources is beyond me .. am I missing
something?

Bill Frisbee apparently is not confident enough of himself to back up
his claims that that unpacking an installer is a violation of the DCMA.
You discredit yourself again Bill! LOL

Um, I cannot live on the Newsgroups...

YOU may be able to but I have both a family and work.

Kindly go read section 2.5 of the Adobe EULA.

Breaking the rules set forth under an EULA and then continuing to A.) Use
said software and B.) Continuing to distribute said modified software, are
direct violations of the DCMA.

Which ones? Quote them and provide a link. Back up your words,
otherwise, they are no more and useless words in a post.
