adobe acrobat not responding

when i try to open a .pdf file, it hangs up the system. i
have to end process and quit explorer... any suggestions?
i have a new dell 4600 with XP OS.

I would un-install Adobe Acrobat and then re-install it. This will
freshen the files and registry settings.

If all you want to do is open a PDF File, you might want to get the free
to download Adobe Reader program and install that.

If either of the above don't work, check with Adobe for support as these
are both their products.
