Papermetadata.api the plugin failed to initialize, done a repair in Adobe
Acrobat 6 but still get the box at load up the program. had it installed 6
months with no problems, updated Microsoft Office 2003 could that be the
problem ?

You might want to try setting your Office products' macro security to MEDIUM
(Tools, Macro, Security) and see if that helps.

Hi Bill

Did the problem occur immediately after updating to Office 2003?

Try reinstalling Acrobat.

Also try asking in the User to User forums at www.adobe.com

Also (and as your first line of defense when you run into error messages) go to
www.google.com and search on the exact text of the error message in quotes or
variants. Searching on "Papermetadata.api" took me here in two or three
clicks:

"Go into Add/Remove Programs and do a detect/repair on the Acrobat 6.0.2
update. The "papermetadata" error occurs if you uninstall/reinstall Acrobat
without also removing the 6.0.2 update--or if you simply use detect/repair on
Acrobat 6.0.1 while 6.0.2 is installed."

(from somebody named Nathan, and the original user with the problem posted back
to say that this solved the problem)

Using XP / Office 2003 PRO and got this error mess suddenly. Nothing helps;
installing Update in Acrobat -> NO, removing and reinstalling -> NO ..,
installing 6.0.2 etc. -> NO .... it's extreamly annoying...

Is it Adobe trying to force us to buy PRO 7.0?????????? ...

I hate getting problems when updating MS or Office or other programs... it's
like the old days with CPM/DOS when nobody was responible.

WHICH PROGRAM COUSES THIS? OFFICE? ADOBE? MS/XP?

:(((((((((((((((((((

Since I can't see the original message with the actual problem description,
probably others can't either. Would you please post the error message you
receive and what you're doing when you receive it?

Con calma ....

As Echo says, please post the full error message in the body of your message,
not in the title (which gets cut off).

Walk us through the steps you took to get there. There are several different
ways of making PDFs from PPT, so please be *very* specific. There are no
penalties for long messages. ;-)

Oh, and while I'm sure Adobe would love for all of us to upgrade to Acrobat 7,
PowerPoint 2003 works ok with Acrobat 6 normally.
