I want Adobe to open .pdf documents in Adobe (as a
separate application) and NOT in my browser. Does any one
know if there are any internet explorer settings. I have
already changed my settings in Adobe.

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Check the box for "Confirm open after download".

Your solution did not help, thanks anyway. After several
days of struggling, I called Adobe again, and they told me
to delete the following file: nppdf32.dll. It worked!!!
However, I want to know if this deletion will affect
anything else?
