All,
kindly need your expertise advise, currently our office
has NT domain,on the plan of AD design, we are going to
create new domain with install member server and promote
it as dc. the problem that we had is to get entire users
name,members/pwd and etc from previous nt domain. ofcorse
we need to have migrate software to get the preivous users
from previous NT domain. the question? does the ADMT can
solve our problem in migrate the users? does anyone have
experience on this? and how about the other software
possible like elita and net iq? please advise and thx in
adv.

Two solutions,
1. If you only have one domain and are happy with the
name, you could simply upgrade your NT4 PDC and save
yourself some headache. Everything comes straight
accross and life is usually good.

2. ADMT Version 2 (on the Windows server 2003 disk or
downloadable from MS) will migrate users, Groups,
computers (profiles!), and user passwords. Pick a
computer that you will use for the entire migration,
install ADMT V2, and then start reading the help files.
They give step by step information and make it pretty
simple. There are some requirements like a 2 way trust
between the NT4 domain and the new W2k domain. But it is
all outlined in the help files.

Hi, Dano Thanks for your advice and i really apreciated
that.

currently i m testing on admt simualtion to migrate from
NT domain as source and new shape of AD w2k as a target.
every migration either of username and grouping are smooth
no error found. but:
- is it possible to run ADMT on mixed mode? or is there
any version of admt to make it possible run on mixed mode?
- in term of password migration, i could not be cause it
asked me to setup the password export server(pes) with 128
encryption. how to install 128 encrypt is? many thanx
master :) sorry if the questions so fundamental. im new bee
cheers
