We are getting ready to use the Active Directory Migration
tool to move a few Windows 2000 servers from a Windows NT
domain into a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain. Some
of these servers have local security policies where
settings such as "Access Computer From The Network" have
been modified to only allow certain (legacy) domain
users/groups access to various features.
When the ADMT migrates the computer and domain user/group
accounts, will it update the local security policy with
the migrated group/account names? Or do we need to modify
the local security policy to reflect the migrated
users/groups before using the ADMT to maintain the
existing restrictions?
