Adminstrator Rights

When I go to Control Panel | User Accounts, I see my user account there and
underneath it, it says 'Administrator' and 'Password Protected'.

However, I regularly get dialogue boxes that pop up and say "Windows needs
permission to.....". Today, I tried to save an aspx file to \Inetpub\wwwroot
and it stopped me saying I don't have permission to save to this location and
to contact an adminstrator.

Why does my user profile show that I am an administrator or how do I sign on
as administrator. I don't recall ever logging on as an adminstrator or
assigning a password to the administrator

Your out of the box admin account that Vista gives you is not a full
rights account, like on XP.

If you want your account to have full permissions on a folder, then
configure the account on NTFS to have full rights, beyond what Vista is
telling you.
