Subject: adminpak.exe 2000 on XP Pro client
Can the 2000 adminpak be used on a XP Pro client machine,
ie a remote laptop?
---------------
Here is an excerpt from KB article 314978:
==============
To remotely administer Windows 2000-based and Windows Server 2003-based
computers, you can install and run the administration tools from the
Windows 2000 Adminpak.msi file on the following computers:
- Windows 2000 Professional-based computers
- Windows 2000 Server-based member computers
- Windows 2000-based domain controllers
==============
I want to warn you that there are limitations whenever using a 2K3 adminpak
to administer a 2K domain, and vice versa. For example, I have seen
unexpected behaviour due to group policy settings that are new in 2K3
