As I was the only person using my PC. I just used the Administrato
account, however, my Neice, asked if she could use my PC, and as I ha
some adult content in my account, I opened a account for her, and me.
Although, I set my account to Admin. I cant access folders etc. fro
the old admin. account.
I can only gain access to the old account, via safemode. I have on
folder, in particular, that I would like to move from my old admin
account, to my new account, but I cannot find a way to achieve this.

I have a similar problem. My 15-year old neice created several files on my
computer, and denied access to them. How do I get this files off my computer?

That happends because of one really stupid reason.
Lots of my clients have had it ,too.
Here is the reason/cure

Reason:
Win XP has a hidden built-in Administrator account that can be access only
in Safe Mode in case of crash or such reasons.This hidden account is called
Administrator.
While installing Windows,you create an account that has Administartor
rights,so if you are the only user you'll have full rights.

But ,while installing Windows you have called your account "Administrator"
and it is the same like the built-in hidden account.So two Administartor
accounts with one name and Windows creates only 1 account,Windows thinks that
you do not have your persoanl accounts ad that's why it opens the hidden one.
The first one is as hidden as obvious ,seen both in Safe Mode and in Normal
mode.

When you have created your niece an account,you have created her a new
administaror account.So Windows see that:
1 Normal Administaror account (is going to control the PC)
and
1 hidden Admin account (is case of crash)

The Normal (and the new one) is seen both is Safe Mode and in Normal Mode
But the built-in hidden is only available in Safe Mode where it has to be
exactly.

So the cure /cures

Number 1 is not so recommended
Number 2 is the better one

1.Delete the new admin account so Windows will see only 1 Admin account and
would open the buil-in hidden with your files
It is not reccomended because the hidden one is in case of crash,so you need
2 admin account

2.Copy / Paste all your files in the Shared folder in My computer
Then open the new Administrator account (that have created for your niece)
and get the files from the Shared account.Do not touch the old account

You need to take ownership of the files. Take a look here for

Once you take ownership you should be able to change the
assigned permissions.

You may need to take ownership of the folder. Take a look at

In addition to the advice other posters have given you, it is VERY BAD
PRACTICE to use the built-in administrator as your day-to-day login for two
reasons. Firstly, the built-in administrator account has complete and
unfetterd access to everything on your machine, so an attacker would be at
liberty to do ANYTHING he liked if he got access to your machine, whether
physically or remotely. Secondly, if you use the built-in administrator
account as your only account, then if it gets corrupted, the ONLY way into
your machine would be via a repair install of Windows XP, and if your
machine came with a recovery CD or has a hidden partition, instead of an XP
CD, then you can't DO a repair install.

create a second User account (a limited one if you can get away with it) and
use that for your day-to-day operations.
