I created a new account. Set it to have administrative
properties(for some reason i wasn't given the choice to
set as a sub account. I went to delete the new account,
but couldn't. I reboot and both accounts were still
there. I think the next day I booted up and the
ADministrator accpount(the one I didn't want deleted)
didn't show up. NowI believe the administrator account
folder is still there, so how can I logon again as the
administrator?

Thanks
Jerry

For XP Pro: Press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the Welcome Screen, with no users logged on. You'll get the old Win2K style logon. Enter Administrator and any password for that account.

For XP Home: You must boot the computer to Safe Mode. The built in Administrator account will appear on the Welcome Screen.

Hi Doug, i got similar problem. I have never set up user account before when the notebook was first used, but now I did and I am an Admin. I tried to change the DPI setting back to normal but it said "you may not have to required admin privilege to install or uninstall files or drivers, pls contact your admin". But I am an Admin. What do I do? How to boot in safe mode?

Thanks.

Press the F8 key between the BIOS POST screen and XP actually starting to load.

See Help and Support and search for "Safe Mode"
