administrator privileges

I have my main account set for "administrator privileges"
on MS Windows XP Pro. It has been set this way since I've
had the computer. All of sudden I can't get access to
some functions such as: Tools/Internet options in the
exporer tool bar. I've tried to reset the user but to no
avail.

Any suggestions?

your computer is infected with virus and spy software. get Spybot and get rid of the offending softwares

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
