I am trying to access the contents of a folder using the administrator
account. I can open the folder but when I try to open the contents of the
folder I get access denied. I need to access these documents. Permissions are
obviously set incorrectly. Is there any way to ensure that the administrator
account get full access to all files.

Certainly. Read the article in Help& Support about "How to take ownership
of files and folders".

Thanks for the information, but considering I am logged on to the local system as the administrator and the administrator created the folder, should I not have full access. Could the administrator account be restricted in some way from its normal priviledges.

It's not uncommon for businesses to restrict the 'Administrator' account
after creating a new 'john doe' account and giving it full admin rights. In
case of a security breach the thinking is the hacker is going to go after
the 'Administrator' account and not 'John Doe'.

OR if a user created the files they may have removed the administrators from
the acl list to keep them from snooping. Either way, taking ownership
sounds like the right thing to do..
