Is there a way to prevent programs such as LinNT or other password reset
applications from working????

Since you need physical access to the server to run them, how about
locking the door?

If you are worried about the users doing such try configuring cmos to only allow
booting from hard drive and password protect the settings, of course that will not
prevent someone from removing the hard drive and performing an offline attack. If you
are mostly concerned about non employees getting access to sensitive data then
consider file encryption solution. --- Steve
