After installing an OEM copy of XP Professional, I can't remember the
administrator password originally set (ages ago). My user is an administrator
but I don't have the actual administrator's password. Even with the
administrator privileges, is there any way of either finding it out or changing
it?

Thanks in advance,
Drew.

Hello!
This tool uses a semi-custom Linux kernel to boot the
machine into a miniature Linux environment. Then a set of
scripts take you through the process of resetting or
changing the password of any user on the machine, including
locked users. The disk even has support for NTFS volumes
and SCSI drives. Amazing tool, yet very dangerous in the
hands of the wrong person.

start, run, control userpasswords2 .. tick the 'users must supply a
password' box, and you can then reset the administrator password. I hope
'administrator' didn't have any encrypted files, because resetting the
password (iirc) blows them away for all time.
