An employee of mine quit the other day and had changed
the admin password on his desktop. He will not divulge
the new password...how do I get it changed so I can
restart the computer each day?

Search through previous posts before asking the same question over and over

The best all around solution is to login with a Domain Admin account
(if possible) for access.

Another often used technique is for the HR/Payroll to withohold the
final paycheck until the information is provided by the former user
of the _conmpany's_ computer.

Beyond that you may need to aquire a password-resetting solution.

In any case after data is recovered the system really should be re-
imaged/re-installed to start "fresh".

None of this is especially "commandprompt.admin" but more ".general"

I just had that same problem two weeks ago. I booted from a WIN98 boot disk
and deleted the SAM file. That put the Administrator login password to a
blank password.

I this computer is a member of a domain, go to the domain
controller and use "user manager" or "active directory
users and computer" depending on wether you are using NT
or 2000, and connect to that computer and change the
administrator password.

If this computer is not part of a domain, you will need to
have another account with local admin rights to change
this password.
If such an account does not exist, use somthing like
IOcrack to cract this password remotely.
Other wise there is nothing you can do but call Microsoft.
