Administrator Password Unknown.....

I am having a problem with my home computer, which operates on Windows XP.
My husband managed to crash it so that we need to run a repair for the Winn
System 32 file. We cannot recall what the administrator password is, or if
we even had to set one up. We've tried everything that we can think of, and
then some, but can't seem to figure it out. Since we need it to be able to
run the repairs, does anyone know how to reset that password or know how to
bipass it? (I can't actually get the computer to turn on until I've run the
repairs.)
 
If you still can't get in the password is reset by opening the case and
removing the small internal battery.

This will work if it's a password for a feature in BIOS. It will not work
if the password in question is a Windows password.
