administrator password recovery on w2k

Recently, I gave someone the admin password to my computer
because I foolishly neglected to set up any user accounts,
and I needed information off my computer from a remote
location. Upon returning home I discovered that they had
changed the password, effectively locking me out of my own
computer. I know I probably deserve it for being so
careless, but is there anyway to recover the password? I
ended up having to reinstall w2k so that I could finish
some paperwork, but I was wondering if anyone had ideas
about how to fix this problem should it crop up again.

Beat it out of them.

Hi Eizu,

Although I like Phil's response I believe a backup would
have resolved this problem.

a seperate non admin account would have prevented the
issue as well.

Also mutiple administrator accounts with complex passwords.

However you are only as good as your worst administrator.

Ulimately never trust anyone with my administrator
account. Also audit what they do as well.

Thanks
