administrator password problems

my pc crashed & i had to start it up again using my xp disc( windows xp home
edition) i am now being asked for an administrators password - which i
cannot ever remember doing....when i put my disc back in nothing happens it
keeps on going to the screen asking for the password .....any word i enter is
resulting in the error message `system will not let u log on`....can anybody
help me by telling me what im doing wrong or if there is a way to by pass
this.....much appreciated for any suggestions.thank you.

The password being requested is that of the built-in
_Administrator_ account, not the password for any other administrative
user accounts that the computer's owner may have created. Unless the
owner deliberately set the Administrator's password via the Management
Console (_not_ the Control Panel), it's probably still blank. WinXP Pro
asks the installer to set the Administrator's password during
installation, but WinXP Home doesn't.
