I am locked out of my Admin account on a single laptop.
This due to a change from a domain to a workgroup
environment. My old password does not work specifically
for the Admin account. Is there some way to reset the
password and re-establish Admin capabilities in this new
workgroup configuration?

Thanks in advance.

Disjoining the domain destroyed the client/ domain trust. You'll need to
physically reconnect to the domain and rejoin it to the domain. You can
logon locally with any valid local account. The cached domain account
information is no longer available. Ask the systems administrator to rejoin
the pc back to the domain.

Dave,

Thanks for the input. You put into words what I understood
but could not relay. My issue is this... I feel I am in a
catch 22 since I broke the domain/client trust I cannot
get into the Administrator account. So what I really
need/want to do is setup and Administrator on this PC for
a workgroup environment only. Any guidance would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff Way

The local administrator account already exists. You'll need to ask your
admin for the password (assuming it isn't blank)
