fairly rigorous access restrictions were applied to the Administrators
profile as well. Now what?

This is Win2k Pro, SP4.

Thanks

Thanks - that was perfect, except...

All went well until I had to do anything that required interaction with
C: drive. I can't create a new database. I was blocking the new user
out of the hard drives, and now I can't do anything as basic as this.

I'm getting a bad feeling.

What happens if you;

If I even click on Explorer, there is an immediate: "C:\is not
accessible. Access is denied" popup.
